Alabama State Representative Charged With Money Laundering and Corruption to Plead Guilty

Alabama House Representative Bryant Melton, 66, has been charged in a two-count Criminal Information filed recently in U. S. District Court in Birmingham, Alabama. Count One of the Information charges Melton with theft from programs receiving Federal funds, and Count Two charges laundering of monetary instruments.  Melton has agreed to pay restitution and has entered into a cooperation agreement with the government.
